NY EPLP offers a unique range of enriching and valuable experiences that support Fellows in performing their current position, and in preparing to assume new, more challenging responsibilities. The program explores education policy and leadership issues at the macro, strategic level through immersive experiences and virtual, interactive sessions.

The small cohort size ensures an opportunity for rich dialogue, networking, and the sharing of ideas and perspectives.Engage in seven monthly Zoom sessions that are the core of the program. These include seminar-style discussions with university professors and prominent speakers in education policy and leadership.
Team Policy ProjectCollaborate with 2 or 3 Fellows on a Team Policy Analysis Project to research and develop a policy position on a topic of interest. Teams complete a policy analysis paper with recommendations, and share their findings with an oral presentation and discussion with the entire cohort.

DAY 1 Docent-led strategic leadership experience at Gettysburg Battlefield offers lessons for today's leaders. DAY 2 US Army War College faculty shares strategic leadership concepts taught to military leaders, yet relevant for all. Multi-state Education Policy Seminar in Washington, DC: Gain a national perspective when our Fellows convene in Washington DC with Education Policy Fellows from several states for a two-day Policy Seminar that includes an interactive Congressional Simulation, insightful sessions with education think-tank experts, legislators, and influencers of education policy representing a range of perspectives, and thought-provoking conversations with Fellows from other states. |
Multiple Perspectives
The diverse, statewide cohort of approximately 25 Fellows represents urban, suburban and rural leaders, including: school district and building administrators; private, parochial, and charter school leaders; education organization leaders; and school board members.
